We've made this as painless as possible. The professional version of hyperTracker allows you to analyze an unlimited amount of campaigns. To setup a new campaign and put the powerful hyperTracker to use, simply follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Setting Up A New Campaign
Click on the "Campaigns" button and then click "Create a New Campaign". A form will be presented to you asking for various details. All of the boxes to fill in are labeled with a description to provide an understanding of what details are required for each. Complete it per the on-screen instructions then click the "Create new campaign" button at the bottom of the page.
You'll be given a special tracking URL. The professional version allows you to setup an unlimited number of campaigns for each promotional escapade you embark on. For example, let's say you were advertising in "Bob's Wonderful Ezine" priced at $145 tracking the response to your website at yourdomain.com which sells a product for $99.
Alternatively, download ht.php or ht.pl script from the "Integration | Web Addresses" section that will allow you to use your own domain as the special tracking URL instead of a hyperTracker URL. Full information is contained further down the page for using the ht.php or ht.pl file on your website.
Step 2: Integration With Your Website
Now that your campaign is ready to be tracked, you need to insert a special snippet of HTML code if you wish to track an action or a sale resulting from the visitor going to your website. Here's how to do that...
Click on the "Integration" section button. After the page has loaded, go to "Create html code" (it should be the default page you see).
You'll be asked a series of questions that will apply to the campaign you've just created. First, you'll be asked whether to track the response as an action or a sale. If you want to track sales, then select "sales". If you wish to track an action (e.g. the download of a free trial product, subscribers to your ezine, etc.) then select "action".
Once you've completed and submitted the form, a few lines of HTML code will be shown on your screen. Copy this code and paste it into the confirmation page your visitor will see once they have completed the specific action.
Confused? Actually, it's pretty easy. For instance... if your website is set to direct new orders to yourdomain.com/thankyou.html then simply copy and paste the code into the thankyou.html file and it will be tracked as a sale.
Or maybe every user who subscribes to your ezine is sent to a page on your website called subscribed.html? In that case, simply paste the code onto that page and it will be tracked as an action.
The system tracks your visitor as a sale or action, determined by which you chose on the previous page. The code still remains the same, but the hyperTracker system will automatically identify between the two.
Here's how the integration system works:
Your website may offer a free product download. If you want to track the amount of people who downloaded the offer, you'd simply integrate it with one of your campaigns by following the instructions above and add the snippet of HTML code to your download page. Once someone visits that page, it'll trigger the tracker to increment the action counter by one.
On the other hand, you may wish to track sales. In that case, simply add the code to the "Thank you for your order" page on your website and it'll increment the sales counter by one. It's very simple to use and only has to be done once.
Step 3: Use Your Special Tracking URL
Now it's time to advertise in Bob's Wonderful Ezine. Usually, you'd simply advertise your http://www.yourdomain.com website directly. However, if you did this, how would you be able to effectively determine the response?
The answer is, you wouldn't. Remember that special tracking URL you were given? Now it's time to use it. Along with the advert you promote, list the special tracking URL given and let hyperTracker work it's magic!
Don't worry, it'll make absolutely no difference to your visitor. They'll be transported directly to your original website in a split second. The only difference is, they've been hyperTracked without knowing it!
Step 4: Keep an eye on the response!
The prospects start flowing so now it's time to keep tabs on the progress. You can do this at any time by logging into your hyperTracker control panel and clicking on the "Campaigns" button and then going to "Overview".
At a glance, you'll be able to see how all of your campaigns are progressing. If you want to get a full-screen statistical analysis for a particular campaign, simply click on the "stats" link next to the campaign description.
On the page you'll be taken to, you have the option of tracking a number of results. Full details are available on-screen and it's as simple as pointing and clicking to find the results you need.
